Weekend Preview - October 1-2, 2016

SUDBURY, ON – The Laurentian men’s lacrosse team (3-3) will be looking to climb up the western conference standings this weekend with two home games at LU Stadium.

The squad kicks the weekend action off on Saturday afternoon when they host the University of Toronto at 2pm. A win on Saturday afternoon against the sixth place Varsity Blues team could boost the third place Voyageurs into a tie for second place.

The Voyageurs will be relying on their top point man, Sam Postma and leading goal scorer Mike Kussman to take advantage of the lower seeded Toronto team. Postma currently leads all CUFLA rookies in points, goals and assists, and is ranked third among all CUFLA players in points, with 24.

Sunday afternoon will prove to be a tougher match for the Voyageurs as they take on the Guelph Gryphons, the other team tied for third place in the western conference.

The Voyageurs are coming off of a 1-1 road weekend and will need to hit the field hard, putting together a complete effort on both offense and defense to come away with a huge four points this weekend. Two wins could potentially put the Voyageurs into a tie for first place.

Come check out your Voyageurs men’s lacrosse team this weekend as they continue their push for the post-season, action starts at 2pm Saturday.
