Matt Schouten, Men's Swimming
Laurentian Athletics is proud to announce that Voyageurs swimmer, Matt Schouten (Stouffville, Ontario) has been named Perkins Male Athlete of the Week.
Schouten, a 4th year Mining Engineering student, had a phenomenal weekend at the Sprint Invitational in Guelph on Saturday and the Badger Invitational at Brock University on Sunday. Matt placed 1st in 100 freestyle, 1st in 200 freestyle, 1st in 100 butterfly, 1st in 200 freestyle relay, 1st in 400 freestyle relay, 2nd in 50 freestyle, 2nd in 50 backstroke, 2nd in 50 butterfly, 2nd in 200 medley relay, and led the Voyageurs men in taking top spot for the teams on Saturday and 2nd on Sunday.
Schouten and his teammates will be competing next at home as they welcome Ottawa and Waterloo on Oct. 27th and 28th.
