BSB | Voyageurs Magical Run Continues Into OUA Semi-Finals

The Voyageurs Baseball team has entered into unchartered territory and qulaified for the OUA Championship semi-finals.  After going winless in their regular season, the team came together when it mattered most, posting a 3-1 round robin record at the Championship to win their pool and be one of the last four standing at the Championship tournament.

The squad posted a 3-1 record in their pool, which consisted of a double round robind with the Waterloo Warriors and the Windsor Lancers.  The only blemish on their record would be a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Warriors but the Voyageurs bracketed that loss with a trio of wins; 7-3 vs Windsor, 11-5 vs Windsor and 9-2 vs Waterloo.

Through the first three games (stats were unavailable for the final round robin game) the Voyageurs were led by Kody Anton and Shane Patterson, who were batting .556 and .500 respectively, with a pair of runs scored and six RBI between them.

On the mound, Avery Chenier led the way as he pitched a complete game five-hitter and helped his own cause by hitting the Voyageurs' lone home run of the tournament.

The Voyageurs will face off against the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks on Sunday morning at 10am with a spot in the finals on the line.
