MBB | Voyageurs Find Themselves Back in the Win Column
Looking to go in to the break on a high note, the Voyageurs Men's Basketball team took on the struggling Waterloo Warriors on the road. The Vee's were able to pick up the 70-61 victory, snapping a five game losing streak.
The difference in the game was Laurentian's ability to hit timely three pointers. Going 6 for 19 in the game, it seemed that LU knocked down a deep ball every time the Warriors looked poised to make a comeback. Though the Voyageurs' offense struggled to make shots inside the arc, their play on the defensive end kept Waterloo from establishing a consistent attack. The Vee's were able to read and breakdown the Warriors' plays, forcing them to take low percentage shots.
Kadre Gray continued his impressive rookie campaign, leading the Voyageurs once again in scoring with his 20 points. The freshman guard added 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in the winning effort. His backcourt partner, David Aromolaran contributed a fine scoring line of his own with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
The Voyageurs will be back in action Friday, January 6th in a home game against the Brock Badgers (4-2) at the Ben Avery Gymnasium.
