After a close loss to the Brock Badgers, the Voyageurs were looking to bounce back and secure the win as they faced off against the McMaster Marauders on home court.
The game started off rocky for the home team as they were outscored by 10 points in the opening quarter. However this deficit fuelled their fire into the second quarter and despite falling a bit in the third, the home team was able to hold their own in the final minutes of the game. This ultimately resulted in a 80-74 victory in the Voyageurs' favour.
Leading contributor for Laurentian was once again third year guard and last week's U Sport male athlete of the week, Kadre Gray, who had 37 points in the match. New comer Joseph Hlday added 12 points of his own while Litha Ncanisa dominated the glass, puling down 17 rebounds.
Leading scoring for McMaster was Kwasi Adu-Poku with 17 points.
The Voyageurs will have a week to refocus before they head to Algoma University next Friday where they'll play the Thunderbirds at 8pm.
