MHKY | Voyageurs Lose 6-2 at McGill

On Saturday night, the Laurentian Voyageurs men's hockey team lost their second game in as many nights when they lost 6-2 to McGill.

 Brent Pedersen began the scoring for the Voyageurs at 4:40 of the first period when he beat McGill goalie Louis-Phillip Guindon. Darcy Haines and Nick Esposto assisted on Pedersen's goal. McGill would later answer at 12:04 when Nathan Chiarlitti scored on the powerplay to the tie the game. The McGill powerplay struck again at 17:31 when Christopher Lalonde scored to give McGill the lead heading into the first intermission.

Lalonde struck again just under five minutes into the second period, increasing McGill's lead to 3-1. After McGill added another goal to their tally, the Voyageurs finally got one back as Darcy Haines scored on the poweprlay at 16:59. Haines' powerplay goal was assisted by Jacob Smith and Elliott Richardson.

That would be as close as the Vees woule get, however, as McGill would score again before the second period ended and once more in the third, resulting in a final score of 6-2.

With the losses this weekned, the Voyageurs fall back into seventh place in the standings. The Voyageurs head south next weekend and will try and right the ship as they play Ryerson and U of T.
