MHKY | Patriotes Skate Past Voyageurs in Final 10 Minutes
On Friday night, the Voyageurs men's hockey team was overcome 7-3 by the UQTR Patriotes. 
 
Gabriel Slight opened the scoring early in the first when he beat Joel Vienneau at 2:53 of the first period to give UQTR a 1-0 lead. 
 
The Vees tied the game shortly after when Khadyn Butterfly scored at 4:45, on a play assisted by Richard Therrien and Nicolas Dionne
 
UQTR jumped back out to the lead when Olivier Caouette scored at 8:41, giving the Patriotes a 2-1 lead. 
 
The second period took a while for the scoring action to resume, but Andrew Tessier tied the game on the power play at 16:13. Xavier Couture and Luke McCaw picked up the assists on the play. 
 
Jason Lavallee would again restore the two goal lead for UQTR, scoring late in the second period at 19:44. 
 
Jacob Smith opening the scoring early in the third when he brought the Vees within one at 2:34 of the third period. 
 
Mathieu Lemieux again answered for UQTR, giving the Patriotes a 4-3 lead. 
 
The Patriotes would add 3 more goals for a final score of 7-3, handing the Vees their fourth loss of the season. The Vees are back in action tomorrow night versus UQTR for the second time in as many nights.
