MHKY | Voyageurs Clinch Playoffs Despite Loss to Carleton

The Laurentian Voyageurs men's hockey team this Saturday evening against the Carleton Ravens.

After a great showing for the Voyageurs in the Nation's Capital against the Gee-Gees they attempted to carry the momentum into this Ravens game.

Unfortunately the Voyageurs were severely outmatched by the Ravens.

The Ravens, who are currently in second place in the OUA East, found themselves to be an offensive powerhouse as they put up a total of six goals on the Voyageurs. Dalen Hedges and Mike Constantine found themselves splitting four goals evenly and Matthew Forchuk and Brett Gustavsen would get the other two.

Mackenzie Savard would be the goaltender who would stop twenty three of the twenty nine shots he faced and Justin Nichole's stopping all but one of the fifteen he faced.

The Voyageurs would not let Carleton go home with the shutout as Haydn Hopkins would score the one and only goal in the second period in just one minute. Russel Nowry and Tyler Cooper would pick up the assists on the Voyageurs goal.

The Voyageurs finalize the season with a loss to Carleton and get ready for playoffs against the Gee-Gees with game one going February 13th at 7:35pm at Countryside Arena.
