ROW | Alexander Earns Silver at CURCs, Chase Fifth

Charles Alexander entered the Canadian Univeristy Rowing Championships (CURCs) looking to build off of his strong showing at the OUA Championships and he did just that, earning a silver medal at the CURCs.

Alexander qualified for the men's single A final on Sunday by finishing second in the 13 team field on Saturday in the time trials.  His qualification position meant the that he would be rowing beside Gavin Stone from Queen's, the individual who edged out Alexander the week before for gold at the OUA Championships.  Unfortunatley, this race followed a near identical script, with Alexander crossing the line just over six seconds back of Stone, having to settle for silver for the second consecutive week.

Hayley Chase qualified sixth from a field of 15 in the women's single, narrowly making the A final.  In the final, Chase picked up one spot, finishing fifth, 11 seconds back of the podium.

Adam Arthurs also competed at the Championships, finishing in 13th in the men's lightweight single.

The CURCs officially close the varsity rowing season for 2018.
