Voyageurs rower, Charles Alexander, is currently in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil gearing up for the Pan-Am Games Qualification Regatta.

The regatta is intended to solidify country berths for the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. RCA is aiming to qualify twelve boats at the qualification regatta including: Lightweight women’s single sculls, lightweight women’s double sculls, women’s pair, women’s double sculls, women’s quadruple sculls, men’s single sculls, lightweight men’s double sculls, men’s pair, men’s double sculls, men’s four, and men’s quadruple sculls. The men’s eight boat does not require a qualification event.

Alexander will be at the helm of the men's single boat for team Canada and will also be sitting in the men's quadruple sculls boat, as he aims to secure a spot for each of those boats in Lima in late July.  He will be competing against entries from a total of 23 different countries from around the Americas.

Racing gets underway tomorrow and wraps up on Sunday, Dec. 2nd.
