MSOC | Voyageurs Drop a Tough Loss to the Ravens

Despite good first half play and a great performance from keeper Connor Vande Weghe, Laurentian was unable to come away from their road match against Carleton with any points.
The initial 45 minutes were rather uneventful for both squads, with neither teams able to create many dangerous chances in the half. What little chances were had, were quickly taken care of by the respective defenses.
It wasn't until the second half that Carleton began dominating the game, with chance after chance and ultimately keeping a high possession rate of the ball. The game's lone goal came off the foot of the Ravens' Danta Cobisa, who picked up the poor turnover near the Vee's box. Vande Weghe nearly came away with the incredible save to preserve the shutout but wasn't able to make up for his defenders mistake.
The remaining minutes of the match were controlled by Carleton, with Laurentian unable to create many chances for themselves to even the score. Their lone dangerous chance came off a free kick in the final four minutes of time, which sailed just high of the net.
The loss put the Voyageurs at an even 4-4 record on the season, good for 5th place in the East, one spot shy of a postseason berth.
Laurentian will have the rest of September off and next take on the Nipissing Lakers (1-5-1) on the road on Saturday, October 1st.
