MSOC | Four Voyageurs Named All-Stars
The OUA named the men’s soccer all-stars on Thursday and the Voyageurs had four players tabbed with the honour, all for the first time in their university careers.
Goaltender, Connor Vande Weghe, was the lone Voyageur recognized as a 1st Team All-Star. The 3rd year Sports Administration student led the OUA and U SPORTS in saves this season, stopping 102 shots over 15 games, guiding the Voyageurs to a fifth place finish in the OUA East conference.
Three players were named 2nd All-Stars for the Voyageurs. Defender, Liam Ezzard, led the Voyageurs in scoring this season, tallying four goals and one assist over 15 games. Midfielders Evan Stronach and Nicholas Correa each had one goal through 12 games and were instrumental in shutting down the middle of the pitch for the opposition.
The awards and recognition wrap up a successful season for the team who bowed out of the playoffs in the OUA East Quarterfinal after finishing 5th in the regular season for the second consecutive year.
