The Voyageurs finally returned home for the first time in the 2025 season as they welcomed the TMU Bold on Saturday. In a spirited affair that saw eight yellow cards given out, it was the Bold who would emerge victorious, 3-2.
The scoring started early and often, with TMU earning a corner kick in the 3rd minute. The ensuing kick found its way into the six yard box where it bounced around until Cyrus Rollocks managed to push it across the line. Joseph Martins got the home side on the board in the 14th minute when he slotted the ball into the bottom corner. The tie was short lived, however, when TMU went back in front on a Kaostubh Bolla in the 16th minute. That would put a cap on the scoring but not the fireworks of the first half, as the teams proceeded to share in five yellow cards in the final 15 minutes of the period.
In the second half, the Voyageurs began pushing the issue and capitalized on a sloppy TMU pass that resulted in a corner in the 54th minute. Jaiden Santo smashed home the Joseph Martins delivery with a beautiful header to knot things back up at 2-2. The Bold would pull back in front in the 68th when a seemingly innocent cross found its way through a number of defenders to Luca Profiris on the edge of the six yard box, who fired home the eventual game winner. The Voyageurs pushed hard in the final 20 minutes but could not find the back of the net and ended up falling to the sixth ranked team in the country, 3-2.
The men will now have a week to get prepared to host Carleton next Saturday and RMC next Sunday.
