WBB | Ravens Pick Away at Voyageurs

The Laurentian Voyageurs women's basketball team had a devastating loss to the Carleton Ravens on Saturday night as they fell 67-39.

Though the Voyageurs hit the court full of energy in the first period and were able to start off the scoring, the Ravens quickly countered the Vees' efforts, and stole the lead from them. The period finished with a score of 11-6 for Carleton, and Laurentian struggling to keep up.

The second quarter was a tough one for the Voyageurs as the Ravens kept the women on their toes with tight defense, powerful offense, and accurate passes. The teams finished the half with the Voyageurs lagging 13-31 behind the Ravens.

The second half saw the Voyageurs unable to match the Ravens and continuing to fall behind their lead. Despite Laurentian's best efforts, the women were unable to close the gap, finishing the game with a score of 67-39 for Carleton.

Leading Laurentian in scoring was Mackenzie Robinson with 9 points scored, Emily Tinnes and Andrea Zulich with 4 rebounds each, and Kayla Deschatelets and Andrea Zulich with 2 assists each.

The Voyageurs will be back on their home court on Friday January 20th as they face off against the Nipissing Lakers at 6pm.
