WBB | Mustangs Take Match Against Voyageurs

The Voyageurs kicked off their last pair of games for the semester with a competitive match against the home court team's Western University Mustangs. Despite the intensity maintained throughout the game, the Voyageurs were unable to fully recover after a damaging second quarter in which they were outscored 26-15. A burst of energy in the second half made for a close game but not close enough for Laurentian who at last fell to the Mustangs 78-74.

Once again a fault in the Voyageurs' game appeared to be presence in the key as Laurentian was out rebounded by their opponents on a slant of 34-25. Another cause for issue in the paint came from one of the top Mustang contributors Julia Curran, who held a strong presence in the key with  26 points and 17 rebounds. 

Top performer for the Voyageurs in the match was fifth year forward L'Ashante Henry  who has recently returned to the roster coming back from a preseason injury. Henry had 19 points and 6 rebounds, while fourth year point guard Emily Tinnes likewise contributed adding 16 points of her own.

The Voyageurs will look to finish their first semester strong tomorrow evening when the take on Windsor University on Lancer home court. Tip off is at 6 pm.
