The 1-4 Voyageurs faced off against the 4-3 Guelph Gryphons for a rare Sunday afternoon game as they looked to make their way back into the win column.
At first it didn't look so promising for Laurentian, as they trailed at half by 4 points. The third quarter wasn't any better for the away team as they fell to a 10 point spread. However, catching fire in the final minutes, the Voyageurs were able to outscore the Gryphons 27-11 ultimately seizing the win with a final score of 67-59.
Leading contributor for the Voyageurs was fourth year guard Mackenzie Robinson who racked up 19 points and five rebounds. Point guards Emily Tinnes and Kayla Deschatelets each added 15 points of their own in the victory.
Top scorer for the Gryphons was Burke Bechard with 18 points.
The Voyageurs will have a few days to recuperate before they're back on the road once again, this time heading to Kitchener-Waterloo to face the Laurier Golden Hawks and the Waterloo Warriors on Friday and Saturday.
