The Women's Curling team is off to Thunder Bay to compete in the U SPORTS Championships, which run from March 18-22.

After claiming the program's first ever OUA banner in late February, the foursome of Laura Masters (lead), Sara Guy (second), Megan Smith (vice) and Krysta Burns (skip) will look to make more history as they gun for the Laurentian's first U SPORTS banner since 1990-91 when the Women's Basketball team won the second of their back-to-back crowns.

The Voyageurs will be up against some stiff competition as the University of Alberta boasts three members of this years Canadian Junior winning rink while the Dalhousie team has Canadian and World Junior experience and the UNB squad has a former provincial junior champion in their ranks.

The Voyageurs have been no slouches this year on the club circuit either, as all four members of the team brought home a bronze medal from this year's Canadian Juniors while representing Northern Ontario.

The Championships begin Saturday night with the first draw at 8pm.  Round robin action wraps up Tuesday evening with the top four teams of the eight team field making the semi-finals on Wednesday morning.  Gold and bronze medal games go Wednesday afternoon.
