WHKY | Voyageurs Held to 7 Shots in Lackluster Loss

The Laurentian Voyageurs women's hockey team travelled down south to play the York Lions for their final game before exams.

The Voyageurs were handled in their own defensive zone and as well the Lions defensive core held the Voyageurs to just seven shots. The Voyageurs entered the third period trailing 2-0 and were unable to record a single shot on goal. Desperate to get something going, the Vees played five of the last seven minutes with an empty net and six skaters, but still could not muster a shot.

The Lions on the other hand were able to pot four goals on the Vees in three periods of regulation. Washer, Muprhy, Coward and Power would be the Lions goal scorers on the night. After a scoreless first period, Washer would score the eventual game-winner on a powerplay five minutes into the second.

Dolighan would face thirty-two shots and save twenty-nine. The Vees finish 5-6-1 before Chritsmas break and will reconvene January 3rd in Kingston against the Queen's Gaels.
