WSOC | Gaels' Quick Start Too Much for Voyageurs to Overcome

Looking to build off of their tie the day before, the Voyageurs women's soccer team fell behind early against the Queen's Gaels and couldn't overcome the deficit, falling 4-1.

The Gaels came out flying, potting a pair of goals in the first six minutes.  The teams settled in after that and in the 45th minute, Megan Chiovitti potted her second goal of the season to give the visitors some hope.  The Gaels were quick to extinguish that as Chloe Filbay scored three minutes into first half injury time to restore the three goal lead.  The Gaels would add one more in the second half to put the wraps on a 4-1 score line.

Despite allowing four goals, Caitlin McNamara was solid in net, making 11 saves on the day.

The Voyageurs now prepare for a home-and-home series with their northern rival, the Nipissing Lakers, when they visit North Bay on Friday at 5pm and return to Sudbury on Sunday at 12pm.
