MBB | Gray Drafted by the Hamilton Honey Badgers of the CEBL
Kadre Gray became the first Voyageur drafted into the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) on Thursday night as the league announced this year's selections.
Drafted in the first round, sixth overall, Gray will be joining a Hamilton Honey Badgers squad who finished runners-up in the inaugural CEBL season, falling to Saskatchewan in the championship game.
Being drafted as a U SPORTS Developmental player, the door remains open for Gray to return to the Voyageurs in the fall for his fifth and final year of eligibility.
Gray's first season with the Honey Badgers is scheduled to begin May 8th with a trip to Edmonton and will wrap up on August 5th as they host the defending champion, Rattlers. The CEBL championship game is scheduled for August 16th in Edmonton.
