MHKY | Voyageurs Lose 5-2 to Lakehead

On Saturday night, the Voyageurs men's hockey team lost their second game in as many nights to Lakehead as they were beaten 5-2.

Grant Valiquette opened the scoring at 8:09 of the first period to give Lakehead the early advantage.  A short while later, Carson Dubchak doubled Lakehead's lead to 2-0 when he beat Joel Vienneau at 15:08.
Laurentian would strike first early in the second period to cut the lead in half when Richard Therrien scored from Jayme Forslund and Vincent Llorca at 5:43 of the period.  Lakehead was quick to answer, however, as Carson Dubchak scored his second goal of the evening at 8:39. Lakehead would add another before the period ended, giving them a 4-1 advantage heading into the second intermission.
The Voyageurs would surrender another goal in the first half of the third period when Patrick Murphy scored at 7:36.  Jayme Forslund scored less than a minute later for the Voyageurs, although Forslund's goal would be the closest the Vees would come in Saturday's game.
The Voyageurs are back in action next weekend as they host the Concordia Stingers on Saturday night.
