MSOC | Voyageurs Give Up Late Equalizer to Lakers

Following the 4-0 defeat to the University of Toronto, the Voyageurs started the game with a bang, scoring in the 4th minute of the game with Timi Aliu hitting a great strike off the beautiful setup pass from Nicolas Patenaude. Riding high off the first goal, the Voyageurs used the momentum from the first goal to quickly get a second in the 10th minute. A perfect corner kick by Nicolas Patenaude assists Giancarlo Galluzzo's header in the back of the net, giving Nipissing goalie no chance but to watch the ball soar into the back of the net. The second goal seemed to have woken Nipissing up, as they started to get into the game more having created some solid chances over the next twenty minutes after the goal having four shots and one shot on goal however it was easy save for Keeghan Ezzard. Right before the halftime whistle Timi Aliu scored his second of the game to give the voyageurs a convincing 3-0 going into halftime.

Nipissing came out hot in the second half, throwing everything including the kitchen sink at the Voyageur's defense with Keeghan Ezzard making an incredible double save to shut out the Nipissing attack. In the 63rd minute, a bad tackle by the voyageur's defense resulted in a penalty for Nipissing, with the Referee dishing out two yellow cards to the Voyageurs on the play, one to the goalie Keeghan Ezzard. The kick was perfectly placed in the corner, and the score was now 3-1. Nipissing started to feel confident after the goal started dominating control of the game and clearly, chance on goal before a poorly timed challenge by Keeghan Ezzard got him his second yellow, getting him sent off and also resulting in another penalty for Nipissing. Cody Vallaincourt might as well be called Ronaldo as he scored his second penalty of the game leaving the score 3-2 and the Voyageurs needing to play the remaining 11 minutes with ten men.

Unfortunately for the Voyageurs, the constant defending was too much to handle as Nipissing tied the game up in extra time coming from a goal from by the right foot Daniel Kasongo, a precise assist by Arjun Kahlon ending in the game in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

The Voyageurs' record improved to 2-4-1 and the boys play again on October 22nd against Ryerson at home at James Jerome Turf for their final home game of the season so make sure to come out and support the team!
