WHKY | Voyageurs Continue Playoff Push With Big Win Over Ryerson
The Laurentian Voyageurs women's hockey team travelled down to Toronto this weekend to play both the Ryerson Rams and the Toronto Varsity Blues for their last road trip of the 2019-2020 season.

The Vees would take on the Rams tonight as the Voyageurs make a push for the playoffs being five points behind the Rams for the last playoff spot.

The Rams would be the first to score in the match but it would come in the second period after Mariah Hinds beat Shanna Dolighan from the point.

The Voyageurs would answer promptly after Morgan McCann was fed a beautiful pass from Jamiee MacDonald in the slot and then proceeded to shelf the puck over Rachel Seeley for a 1-1 matchup and her fifth goal of the season.

The Voyageurs would net back to back goals with Megan Arnott scoring her sixth goal of the season thirteen minutes into the third. Arnott's powerplay goal would sneak in short side on Seeley and give the Vees a 2-1 lead late in the third. Giannitsopoulos and Sherdian would get the assists.

After the Rams would equalize yet again the Rams and Vees would find themselves in an extra frame. Overtime wouldn't last long though as Morgan McCann would score her second goal of the game after scoring a highlight real goal on Seeley and sealing the deal in overtime for the Vees.

The Vees take this one 3-2 in overtime and improve to 10-8-3, and moved one point closer to a playoff spot. They will play the top ranked Toronto Varsity Blues tomorrow afternoon.
