WSOC | Jones Stands Tall, Voyageurs Blanked 1-0 by Ravens
The women's soccer team headed to the nation's capital on Saturday looking to work their way into a playoff position. That quest began with a visit to the Carleton Ravens and, despite Hunter Jones standing on her head in net, the offence could not get going as the women fell 1-0.
It was decidedly one-way traffic all game as Carleton controlled possession throughout, earned themselves 14 corner kicks over the course of the game and fired 19 shots on Jones. Jones was equal to the task until the 68th minute when Chloe Doherty got behind the Voyageurs back line to redirect the cross behind Jones for the only goal of the game. Cass Armstrong had the lone shot on net for the Voyageurs.
The team will look to bounce back tomorrow when they visit the Ottawa Gee-Gees at 1pm.
