Tipping off for the first time in 2019, the Voyageurs faced the 6-4 Queen's Gaels at the Ben Avery Gymnasium. Coming out of the gate strong in the initial minutes of the game, the home team led going into the second half 38-35. However, that is where their lead started to slip. After a slow start to the second half and multiple runs by the Gaels in the final minutes of the game, Queen's was able to run away with the victory 87-80.
Laurentian was led by third year guard Kadre Gray who tallied 26 points and 9 assists in his 37 minutes of game time. Third year guard Josis Mikia-Thomas added 14 points and 5 rebounds.
Top contributor for Queen's was Tanner Graham with 22 points.
The Voyageurs will look to shrug off the loss and regroup for tomorrow's game, where they'll match up against the York Lions on home court at 8 pm.
