On Saturday night, the men's basketball team hosted the uOttawa Gee-Gees. The Gee-Gees defended their national ranking, defeating the Voyageurs 84-59.

At the beginning of the first quarter, Ismael Konate scored the first layup and two free throws, while Daniel Muila scored a layup of his own. Halfway through, Muila, Kamil Dia and Chikosi Boardi scored a combination of 8 points, giving Laurentian a ten-point lead. The Gee-Gees scored ten points, equalizing the score at 18 points a-piece.

In the second quarter, an early turnover by the Voyageurs led to a dunk by the Gee-Gees, giving them momentum. The Vees were scoreless until the seventh minute mark, where Konate made a layup and Evan Munro made two layups shortly after. The Gee-Gees got aggressive offensively and scored 8 points in a span of two minutes, giving them a 42-26 lead going into halftime.

Coming back from halftime, Konate scored an early layup, followed by a 3 point-shot by Boardi. At the seventh minute mark, Laurentian called a timeout, which was proven effective by a 3 pointer from Munro and a layup from Hantchi. Later on, Munro and Konate both made a layup, but they were trailing uOttawa 63-42 going into the last quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Laurentian's Tyler Brown scored an early jump shot, which would be the only points the Voyageurs would score for three minutes. Hantchi and Brown scored another layup, while Jason Desjarlais scored his first points of the game, a 3 pointer. In the last minute, Boardi scored his second 3-point shot and Ahmad Cidi-Jalloh scored his first 3 point shot to conclude scoring for the Voyageurs, as they were defeated 84-59 by the Gee-Gees.

The standout performers were Ismael Konate with 12 points and 11 rebounds, Evan Munro with 12 points and Chikosi Boardi with 9 points.

The Voyageurs are back in action on Friday, December 1st as they take on the Nipissing Lakers on the road at 8pm. They will be back on home court on Saturday, December 2nd, to host the Lakers, also at 8pm.
