MSOC | Voyageurs Fall to Fourth Ranked Ravens

MSOC | Voyageurs Fall to Fourth Ranked Ravens

The Voyageurs men's soccer team were outduelled by the fourth ranked team in Canada, the Carleton Ravens, on Sunday afternoon. They lost by a score of 4-1.

The match began with fireworks when, just three minutes in, the Ravens were able to find the back of the net with the aid of an unassisted goal from Tristan St. Pierre. Just four minutes later, the Ravens added to their advantage when Alexandar Kulic scored with an assist from Emad Houache. As the game progressed, Carleton intensified their pressure on the Voyageurs by recording a total of eleven shots to Laurentian's three but were unable to extend their lead. A score line of 2-0 would be maintained going into the half.

An early goal by Liam Ezzard to start the second half gave the Voyageurs some life but the Ravens responded just four minutes later when Jimi Aribido scored with an assist from Emad Houache to regain a two goal advantage. In the 81st minute, the Ravens would put the match out of reach when Scott Mazzotta scored a fourth goal with an assist from Jimi Aribido.

The Laurentian Voyageurs will now look to get back into the win column when they welcome the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday at 2:15 pm.
