MSOC | Voyageurs Drop Pair on the Road

The men's soccer team headed to Ontario Tech and Trent on the weekend for their first regular season action of the year.  Unfortunately, the results were not what the squad wanted as they dropped both games.

On Saturday, at Ontario Tech, it was a game to forget as the Ridgebacks opened up a 3-0 lead by halftime and added five more in the second half, cruising to an 8-0 victory.

The Voyageurs looked to bounce back on Sunday and got off to a quick start when Daniel Alexa ripped a shot into the top left corner from 40 yards out to put the blue and gold in front just two minutes in.  The score stayed that way until the 77th minute when the Excalibur converted a penalty kick.  The hosts received another PK just five minutes later but this time, Lucas Cidade was equal to the task.  However, in the 87th minute, the Excalibur scored the game winner when their attacker slid the ball between the legs of a sprawling Cidade to take the 2-1 victory.

The men will look to get back into the win column when they visit RMC and Carleton on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
