WBB | Rough Second Half Sinks Voyageurs
Searching for their third win in as many games, the Voyageurs Women's Basketball team took on the McMaster Marauders at home. Leading the OUA Central division with a record of 7-1, the Marauders made the necessary adjustments at half and came away with the 87-58 victory.

What was clear from their first possession was that McMaster would be looking to shoot three pointers all game long. The opposite can be said for the Vee's who looked to penetrate the paint in order to get their points. The variation in attack plans led to a seesaw type of first half with multiple lead changes throughout. When it appeared that Laurentian was about to go on a strong offensive run, the Marauders would answer with a timely three pointer.

It looked like a different set of teams came out of the locker rooms after halftime. Gone was Laurentian's ability to get into the paint, largely thanks to McMaster's defensive adjustments. The Marauders opted for a full court defense and it paid off in a big way. The pressure employed often prevented the Vee's from even crossing centre court. Combined with a newfound shooting touch, the Marauders were able to runaway with the contest.

The Voyageurs leading point scorer in the game was L'Ashante Henry, who had a scoring line of 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. For the Marauders it was Danielle Boiago and Vanessa Pickard who tied with a game-high 14 points.

The Voyageurs are back in action next Friday in a road contest against the Ottawa Gee-Gees (5-2).
