WBB | Lady Vees Fall After Voyage Up North

WBB | Lady Vees Fall After Voyage Up North

After a cold start in the first quarter, the Laurentian Lady Vees were  not able to bridge the gap resulting in their second loss of the season, this time  to the Lakehead Thunderwolves. Though the Vees were able to get shots off, it appeared the ball would just not drop for Laurentian who shot 25.4% from the field- a sharp contrast to the Thunderwolves 44.2% success rate.

The top performer  for Laurentian was fourth year veteran Emily Tinnes with 10 points and 3 steals. Another notable effort came from third year player Mackenzie Robinson who likewise added 10 points to the score.

One major cause for the Vees demise seemed to be Lakehead's Leashja Grant , a transfer student from Texas Tech who had 26 points and 12 rebounds in the game. Other factors in the Vees loss included rebounds, points off of turnovers and bench points; the Laurentian bench contributing 14 points in comparison to Lakehead's 35 point bench impact.

The Lady Vees are back on court next Friday, November 17th at Burridge Gymnasium to take on the nationally ranked 7th seated McMaster Marauders.
