WBB | Gaels Run Away From Voyageurs in 3rd Quarter

WBB | Gaels Run Away From Voyageurs in 3rd Quarter

Though the team participated in competitive play in three of the four quarters, that proved not to be enough for Laurentian who ultimately lost to the Queen's Gaels on away territory. A third quarter in which the Voyageurs were outscored 29-6 seemed to seal their fate as they fell 82-48.

With multiple 6 footers in the Gaels' line up, it was evident that rebounding could cause an issue for Laurentian, who lost the battle on the boards 47-35. Rebounding, specifically on the offensive end, enabling second chance opportunities, proved to be key a contributor to the Gaels' success over the Voyageurs.

Top performer for Laurentian was veteran guard Emily Tinnes who tallied 17 points and 4 assists in her 35 minutes of play. Another notable performance came from rookie forward Bailey Tabin who earned a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

Leading scorer for the Gaels was Marianne Alarie with 17 points.

The Voyageurs will look to regroup and make a comeback tomorrow as they take the voyage over to York University to play the Lions at 6pm. After falling to York at home previously this season, Laurentian most definitely will hope to come away with the victory this time around.
