The Voyageurs looked to collect their first weekend sweep of the season as they faced off against to the 12-2 University of Ottawa Gee-Gees tonight at the Ben Avery Gymnasium. Despite the Gee-Gees' high ranking, currently holding the 5th spot in Canada, Laurentian hoped to complete another upset like the previous night.

The home team started off strong with a competitive first quarter trading baskets with Ottawa. However, the Gee-Gees sped off in the second, outscoring the Voyageurs 31-5- building a comfortable lead they were able to sustain for the remainder of the game. The downfall for the Voyageurs in this pivotal quarter was shooting percentage, as they shot just 9.1% from the field compared to the Gee Gees 66.7%.

This second quarter surge ultimately secured the win for the Gee-Gees with a final score of 86-61.

Top contributor for Laurentian was once again second year forward Bailey Tabin who had 21 points and seven rebounds in the loss. Fourth year guard Andrea Zulich added 15 points of her own.

Leading scorer for Ottawa was Brigitte Lefebvre-Okankwu with 23 points.

Laurentian will have a week to reconvene and prepare for next weekend's double header, when they'll visit the Ryerson Rams and the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.
