WCURL - USPORTS Championships: Day #1

On day one of the USPORTS Championships, the women's curling team came out victorious, in a nail-biter match against the University of Victoria.

The University of Victoria gained the first point after the first end, but Laurentian came back in the second end, putting up two points. In the third end, Victoria added 3 more points, blanking the Voyageurs. In the fourth and fifth end, both teams scored two points, while the Voyageurs added three more points in the following end. In the final four ends, Laurentian put up 3 more points, while Victoria put up four, leading to an equalized match and requiring an eleventh end to determine the winner. The Voyageurs gained a point late in the eleventh end, leading to a victory to open up the national championship.

The women are back in action tomorrow, as they take on the University of Alberta at 7:30am, and McMaster University at 3:30pm.
