SKI - OUA Championships: Day #1
After day one of the OUA Championships in Thunder Bay, both men's and women's teams earned solid results in the relay and classic race.
In the women's relay, Laurentian's A team, consisting of Sophie Tremblay, Hannah Cutler, and Maddie Norman finished in 4th place with a time of 37:03.90. Laurentian's B team comprised of Margot West, Faith Goudie, and Olivia Norman completed the course in 40:51.20, finishing in 9th place.
Onto the men's relay, Laurentian's only team comprised Laydon Bursey, Cameron Boland, and Cormac Adams, finished in 10th place, in 35:03.80.
In the individual 7.5-kilometre classic race, Sophie Tremblay placed 5th (23:47.20), Maddie Norman placed 12th (25:12.70), Hannah Cutler placed 18th (26:30.50), Olivia Norman placed 19th in 26:39.20), Margot West finished in 24th (27:05.10) and Faith Goudie completed the race in 29:22.60, finishing 35th. There were 50 women from all over the OUA participating in this race.
In that same race on the men's side, Laydon Bursey finished 28th (23:03.60), Cameron Boland finished 35th (23:59.40), Lucas Jones placed 39th (24:57.50), Cormac Adams finished in 41st in 25:30.06, Jamie Brain finished in 45th in 26:38.50. There were 60 men from the OUA competing in this race.
The Voyageurs are back in action for day two of the championships tomorrow, with the 15-kilometre mass start, set for 9 am.
