WSOC | Voyageurs Fall to Queen's, Still Searching for First Win

Heading down to Kingston, the Voyageurs were looking to get into the win column for the first time in 2017.  Instead, it was the dominance of the Gaels that was the story of the day as they defeated the Voyageurs 3-1.

Queen's controlled play from the opening whistle, applying plenty of pressure on the Voyageurs' net, and they finally broke through on a goal at the 19' mark.  The Gaels' pressure continued as the half wore on and they doubled their lead to 2-0 just before the half-time break.

The second half started off very similar to the first as the Gaels pushed their lead to 3-0 in the 60th minute.  Bianca Breiding would finally put the Voyageurs on the board as she converted a wonderfully executed set piece to make it 3-1, which is how the game was finish.

Caitlin McNamara was by far the busiest keeper on the day, stopping 10 of the 13 Gaels shots on target.  Overall the Gaels fired 23 shots towards the Voyageurs net while Laurentian could only get a pair of shots towards the Gaels' net, both of them being on target.

The women will look for their first win tomorrow when they take on the RMC Paladins.  Kick-off is scheduled for 12pm in Kingston.
