WSOC | Voyageurs Cruise Past Paladins

WSOC | Voyageurs Cruise Past Paladins

The Voyageurs overpowered the RMC Paladins with a strong offensive outing as they came out victorious by a score of 4-0 on Saturday.

Both teams went toe-toe with each other in the first half as they recorded similar amount of shots of goals, corner kicks earned and saves made with the Voyageurs holding a slight advantage in each department. But in the 20th minute, due to the Voyageurs ability to posses the ball more than their opponents, they drew first blood when veteran forward, Mia De Gasperis, scored an unassisted goal to give the Voyageurs a 1-0 lead. This goal was followed by Amanda Cuthbert's unassisted marker in the dying minutes of the half to give the Vees a comfortable 2-0 lead going into the second half.

The second half was a complete reversal of first. The Voyageurs dominated in every aspect of the game. They possessed the ball for a longer period of time and recorded ten shots to the Paladins' three. In the 63rd minute, Chantae Robinson would put the match out of reach by scoring an unassisted goal. Finally, just seven minutes later, the Paladins' scored an own goal to further add to the Voyageurs celebrations. In conclusion, the Voyageurs put their stamp on the game and eased to a 4-0 victory.

With a win, the Voyageurs now occupy the final playoff spot and they will most certainly look to climb up the leaderboard with half of the season yet to play. Next, they will turn their eyes towards the second best team in their division as they will take on the Queen's Gaels tomorrow at 12 pm.
