WSOC | Gaels Too Much for Voyageurs

WSOC | Gaels Too Much for Voyageurs

The women's soccer team hosted Queen's on Saturday afternoon in their first of two games on the weekend.  In a game the saw decidedly one-way traffic, it was the visiting Gaels leaving town with a 5-0 win.

The Gaels came out on their front foot and Seema Sakran put the visitors ahead 1-0 less than 10 minutes into the game.  Sakran would add another in the opening 45 minutes and the Voyageurs trailed 2-0 at halftime.  The Gaels added three more in the second half and walked away with a 5-0 victory.

Hunter Jones was solid, if not spectacular, in net, turning aside 15 of the 20 shots on target she faced while the Voyageurs failed to register a single shot on goal.  Jones now sits in second in the OUA with 49 saves on the season.

The team will look to bounce back tomorrow when they host the RMC Paladins at 12pm on the Laurentian Field.
