MLAX | Walters & Genge Highlight CUFLA All-Canadian Team

SUDBURY, ON - The Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) announced their 2016 All-Canadian teams today and included four Voyageurs.

Highlighting the All-Canada West Division team is defender, Cameron Genge and goalkeeper, Ian Walters. For Genge, this is his first All-Canadian nod after a solid year on the backline for the Voyageurs, guiding the team to a fourth place finish in the West division and also chipping in with three points.

For Walters, this is the second time he has been recognized on the All-Canadian team, after being named a 2014 honorable mention. Walters had a great year as the Voyageurs last line of defense, averaging 13.26 goals against in ten games (4-3 record).

First-year Voyageurs, Sam Postma and Brandon Howes were named to the honorable mention list. Postma was the leading point getter for the Voyageurs this year and led all CUFLA rookies with 51 points. Howes had a great first-year in the long-stick midfield position, thwarting many opponent's offensive opportunities.

The Voyageurs finished their season in fourth place in the CUFLA West division with a 5-7 record, earning a berth into the Baggataway Cup playoffs where they were upended by the third-seeded Guelph Gryphons this past weekend. The loss concludes the Voyageurs 2016 season.
