After a stellar comeback performance at the OUA Championships this past weekend, fifth-year Forensic Science student Bella Croisier has been named as one of OUA's Athletes of the Week.

Croisier led her team to a gold medal finish at the Championships, even after starting the weekend with two tough losses on Friday. She was able to get her team to bounce back on Saturday claiming two wins and a spot in the quarter finals on Sunday morning. Croisier led her team to two more victories in the playoffs, giving them a chance to bring back gold. In a thrilling championship match, Croisier, alongside her teammates was able to pull off a 7-6 win, to come back home with some hardware and the OUA Championships banner.

"Being named OUA Athlete of the Week is amazing and I couldn't have done it without my teammates and supporters. I'm so proud of how we came together when it mattered most. Having won silver last year at the OUAs, I am so happy to have improved our successes and I can't wait to go back to U Sports in March," said Croisier.

"The coaching staff, Athletics Department, and Voyageurs Community are so very proud of our women's curling team in their successes at this year's OUA Championships. Our team showed so much resiliency and determination throughout the week in not only winning the provincial university curling championship but also in qualifying for the USports Championships next month. It's wonderful to see such a deserving young woman accomplish her goals and see success" said head coach Ryan Lafraniere.
