A quartet of athletes from each of the men's and women's swim teams competed at the U SPORTS Championships in Toronto over the weekend.

The four members of the men's team (Samuel Boily-Dufour, Chris Eastick, Andrew Hrycusko and Matt Schouten) were led by Schouten, who made the finals each time he hit the water.  Schouten's meet was highlighted by a 6th place finish in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 22.65 seconds.  He followed that up with a 17th place in 50 Backstroke, a 20th place in the 50 Butterfly and a 21st place in the 100 Freestyle.  His 42 points accounted for all of the Voyageurs scoring as the men finished 17th as a team.

On the women's side, the quartet of Riley Konrad, Natalie Lefebvre, Bethany Robinson and Francesca Zammit-Maempel improved last year's 28 point total by tallying 32 points over the weekend for a 22nd place finish as a team.  The squad was led by Konrad who swam to a 17th place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:57.26, a 17th place in the 200 IM and a 22nd place in the 50 breaststroke.

On top of Konrad's individual performances, the women also scored points in the 400 Medley Relay with their 20th place finish and the 400 Freestyle Relay with their 19th place finish.

Schouten's times in the 50 freestyle and 50 backstroke and Konrad's time in the 400 IM were all fast enough to pre-qualify them in to next year's U SPORTS Championships.

The end of the Championships officially brings the swimmers' 2017-18 season to a close.
