This Sunday, the Laurentian Voyageurs Men’s Soccer team faced off against the Queen’s Gaels in an intense game, ultimately losing 2-0.

The first half was action-packed from the very beginning, with 3 yellow cards being awarded within the first fifteen minutes; two for Queen’s and one for Laurentian’s Christopher Atkinson. Within the same half, two more yellow cards were awarded to Vees Daniel Correa and Matthew Wilkes. Queen’s was able to score in the 23rd minute with an unassisted goal by Patrick Van Belleghem.

The second half saw the Voyageurs step their game up, with more shots on goal from Laurentian than Queen’s, but still unable to score. The half was filled with even more yellow cards for both teams, three for Voyageurs Samuel Daoust and Duncan Jobson, and three for the Gaels. Jacob Schroeter of Queen’s was able to score unassisted in the 83rd minute, resulting in the Gaels increasing their lead to 2-0. The Vees could not answer these goals, and fell 2-0 at the end of the match.
