Over the weekend, the men's soccer team traveled to Toronto to face the closely ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues and the TMU Bold.

For the match on Saturday against the Varsity Blues, the Voyageurs battled a physically demanding first 20 minutes, with many fouls being awarded to the blue and gold. Within the next 15 minutes, the fifth placed Varsity Blues netted the first goal of the game, making it 1-0.

A minute before the end of the first half, second year player, Jaiden Santo, kicked the ball in the back of the net, sending the two teams into halftime with one goal each. After halftime, both teams battled hard and were scoreless until the 76th minute, where the Varsity Blues took the lead 2-1. Voyageurs goalkeeper Lucas Cicade finished the game with six saves.

On a snowy and windy Sunday afternoon, the Voyageurs played the TMU Bold, who were sitting third in the OUA East standings. In the first half, TMU was able to net three goals, all within 10 minutes of each other. The Voyageurs came back after halftime with determination, proven by Nicolas Patenaude striking one in the net at 72 minutes. TMU added another 4 goals to the scoreboard, giving them a 7-1 win over the Voyageurs. Goalkeeper Keiyan Ismaili made seven saves on the 14 shots he faced.

The men's soccer team will be back on home turf to host a rematch against the University of Toronto Varsity Blues on Sunday at 2:15pm.
