MSOC | Voyageurs Score Late to Steal Point

MSOC | Voyageurs Score Late to Steal Point

The Men’s Soccer team faced off against the UOIT Ridgebacks in Oshawa on Sunday and came away tied by the end of the match 1-1.

The first half was packed with action as both teams fired shots at the net, but with great defense neither team was successful until the 25th minute when Alexander Cuccovillo of UOIT scored, assisted by Erik Petrovic. The remaining minutes of the first half saw a yellow card for Laurentian’s Nick Franke.

The second half was hard-fought, with yellow cards for both Jamal Smith-Joseph and Dean Pizolinas of the Voyageurs. As time began to run out, the pressure was on for Laurentian to even the score. In the 90th minute, a penalty kick goal by Laurentian’s Matthew Wilkes tied up the game, making the final score 1-1.

The Voyageurs still have a lot to play for heading into next weekend where they will take on Carleton and University of Toronto at home. The men could clinch a playoff spot next weekend and will need the fans out to support.
