While the women had a shaky start on Friday, ending the day with two losses, they bounced back Saturday to earn a spot in the quarter-finals on Sunday.

For the quarter-final, in a rematch against TMU, the women were able to pull off a 6-4 win, starting off strong with two points in the first end. TMU tied the match by putting up two points themselves in the second end, but Laurentian did not let up, making one point in the fifth and sixth end. The game was equalized at 4 points in the eighth end. The Voyageurs were able to put up two more points, sending them to the semi-final match against Waterloo.

In the semi-final match, Laurentian faced Waterloo for the second time, claiming victory this time. Although Waterloo put up two points in the second end, the Voyageurs bounced back and picked up two points themselves in the fourth and sixth end. In between these ends, Waterloo put up two more points, which meant the game was equalized at 4 points once again. In the seventh end, Laurentian added two more points to the board, winning the match with a score of 6-4, sending them to the championships game.

Onto the championship, the women faced McMaster in a nail-biter two-hour match. The Voyageurs put up three points in the second and third end, starting strong with a 6-0 lead, until McMaster added two points to the board in the fourth and fifth end. In the sixth end, the Voyageurs added one more point, while McMaster put up two points in the following end. The women's curling team won the championship game 7-6.

"Having finished second last year, finishing first year is just truly amazing and I'm so proud of my team. It's absolutely incredible. We couldn't have done it without all of our coaches, our supporters, and the university" said Bella Croisier in a post-match interview.

"The women certainly showed resiliency from the start to the finish, they were determined, they were intense they needed to," said head coach Ryan Lafraniere.

The women will head to Fredericton to take part in the U Sports Championships in March.
