Kayla Deschatelets, Women's Basketball

Laurentian Athletics is proud to announce that Voyageurs basketball guard, Kayla Deschatelets, (Timmins, ON) has been named the Perkins Female Athlete of the Week.

Deschatelets, a 3^rd year Sports Psychology student, had a couple of strong games this past weekend. On Friday, Deschatelets led the team with 18 points in a tough 71-60 loss against the Windsor Lancers. On Saturday, in a dominant 76-59 win over the Western Mustangs, Deschatelets had a double-double, with 17 points and 10 rebounds, as well as adding 7 assists on the night.

Deschatelets and the Voyageurs will be back in action at home in the New Year on January 4^th when they host the Queen’s Gaels and January 5^th against the York Lions.
