On Friday night, the women's basketball team traveled to St. Catharine's to take on the Brock Badgers. In a fairly low-scoring game, the Badgers took the 58-39 victory in the Voyageurs' last away game of the regular season.

In the first quarter, the Voyageurs wasted no time and scored first, with a jump shot from Claudia Pellerin and a layup from Emilie Lafond a minute later. However, the Badgers came back and scored 6 points within a minute to take the lead. After being scoreless for three minutes, Voyageurs guard Audrey-Anne Labreche netted a 3-point shot to equalize the game at 7 points each. While the Voyageurs were having a hard time getting passed the Badgers, they remained scoreless until the end of the quarter, in which Brock was winning 14-7.

In the second quarter, Labreche scored another 3-point shot and Princess Bernardino put herself on the board with a 3-point shot. Almost halfway through, Pellerin scored 4 points with a layup and two free throws. Once again, the Voyageurs were scoreless for several minutes, until the last two minutes of the quarter. Bernardino scored two 3-pointers and Aneisha Rismond scored her first jump shot of the game. The Voyageurs were trailing 25-35 going into halftime.

After the first half, the Voyageurs were scoreless for six minutes, until Melanie Cloutier scored a layup and Labreche netted another 3-pointer. To end the quarter, Rismond made two successful free throw attempts. The Badgers were ahead 51-32.

In the last quarter, the first point of the quarter for the Voyageurs was scored by Rismond due to a free throw. Later on, Cloutier made a jump shot and a free throw, Lauren Robertson-Martin scored a free throw herself and Molly Adams concluded scoring for Laurentian with two free throws. The Badgers proved to be too strong for the Voyageurs, claiming a 58-39 victory.

The standout performers were Audrey-Anne Labreche with 9 points, Princess Bernardino also with 9 points, and Melanie Cloutier with 5 points and 10 rebounds.

The Voyageurs are back in action on Sunday, as they host the Algoma Thunderbird in the Ben Avery. Tip off is scheduled for 12pm.
