The Laurentian Voyageurs faced off against their 705 rivals the Nipissing University Lakers tonight at Robert J Surtees Student Athletics Centre.  After a previous early season win against the Lakers, the Voyageurs were in good standings for tonight's match up.

The teams exchanged advantages throughout the first three quarters of game play, with the outcome being decided in the final minutes of the game. Outscoring the Lakers 22-12 in the fourth, Laurentian was able to take the lead. This resulted in a 75-64 victory in the Voyageurs' favour.

Leading the way for Laurentian was third year guard Kayla Deschatelets who racked up 22 points in her 34 minutes on court. Fifth year guard Emily Tinnes and fourth year forward Emily Fisher each added 16 points of their own in the victory.

Top scorer for the Lakers was Michaela Branker with 23 points.

The Voyageurs will have a week to prepare before they return to the court, this time against the University of Toronto Varsity Blues next Friday on home court.
