MHKY | Voyageurs Nipped by Thunderwolves in OT
The Laurentian Voyageurs played their fourth game of the season and second game of the two game series against our fellow neighbours from the North, the Lakehead Thunderwolves, on Saturday night.

After dominating the Wolves offensively and coming out with a 5-3 win last night, the Vees had momentum coming into the game but the Wolves had something to prove.

It did not take long for the Voyageurs top line to get started as William Gignac scored his second goal of the season with Gabriel Paquin and Brett Jacklin picking up the assist's on the go-ahead goal for the Vees eight minutes into the first.

Two minutes later the Thunderwolves responded when Josh Laframboise beat Savard resulting in a tie game. The Voyageurs top line took only thirty seconds to respond as Paquin potted his first ever OUA goal and as well the tie breaking goal with the help of his line mates Jacklin and Gignac.

As the second frame was winding down and the Voyageurs down by one goal Jarret Meyer scored his first goal of the season after receiving the puck at the point and scoring on a routine shot from the point beating Renyard top corner.

Meyers goal would be the final goal for the Voyageurs and the Thunderwolves would take the game in overtime after rallying offensively. Savard would stop forty-three shots on the night but Renyard and the Wolves would be awarded the win.

The Voyageurs record would change to .500 and they are preparing for an ever so familiar matchup against the Nippissing Lakers when they host them October 18th.
