MHKY | Savard Makes 53 Saves in Loss to Patriotes
The Laurentian Voyageurs men's hockey team travelled to our neighbouring province, Quebec, to play the UQTR Patriotes for a back to back series this November 8th and 9th.

The Patriotes were moving offensively as they were able to beat Savard for a total of four times. Jordan Martel would score two goals and as well get himself an assist, Lafrance and Boucher would score the other two. Savard, the OUA save leader, would make a total of fifty-three saves.

Down 2-0, Ben Morris would pull the Voyageurs within one with his third of the season, with the help of Julian Makray and Luke McCaw. The Patriotes restored their two-goal lead 4 minutes later, then put the game away at 16:52. The Vees would get one bakc, as Marc-Antoine Gagnon beat Sebastien Auger on the powerplay with 12 seconds left, assisted by Gavin Apperson and William Gignac

This loss leaves the Voyageurs with a current record of 2-6-2 giving them last place in the league but they have a chance to make the weekend even tomorrow at 3:00 in Quebec.
