MHKY | Voyageurs Drop Home Finale to McGill

MHKY | Voyageurs Drop Home Finale to McGill

The Laurentian Voyageurs men's hockey team played their second game of the weekend against McGill University. After dropping their first game against the Stingers last night, the Voyageurs had an opportunity at finishing out the weekend with a win and a loss for their last home game of the 2019-2020 season.

McGill on the other hand had different plans. They would score one goal a period, thus making it 2-0 heading into the third period, Antoine Dufort-Plante and Christophe Lalonde would be accredited the goals on Brayden Lachance

The Voyageurs would pot their first of the game early in the third frame after Russel Nowry sent a puck on net from the top of the circle and taking Emanuel Villa by surprise as it trickled through his five-hole. Nowry's goal would bring the Voyageurs within two and Danny Lepage would get the assist.

Laurentian's only goal would send Villa home without a shutout but McGill would ultimately go home with a win of 6-1.

The Voyageurs would drop their last home game and will travel to Nipissing on Tuesday in a must-win game to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
